My carbon monoxide detectors wont stop beeping they go off every 40 secs or so can you help?
Well there is one in the front room and one close too the garage im pretty sure its a problem with the detectors but its also got wires in them.. how would i go about replacing them or possibly dewire them as well?
the wires Are electrical ones so they are hot
I am very comfortable working with electricity as i have worked with 480 before so the house power is also dangerous will i need to replace them or could i fix the ones I got
What are the odds that they are all defective?
It is one of 2 things.
1. Carbon Monoxide.
2. Something in the power.
Go buy a CO detector with seperate power to test with.
not sure about carbon monoxide detector, but smoke detectors usually need a battery change when they beep like that.
A low battery or no voltage would to this. Check to see if you have a tripped break in your electrical service panel.
if they have wires gong to them they have 110 Volts AC. you can turn off that break if you have it marked in your electrical panel.
mine twist to drop of of a steel tract screw to my ceiling. sometimes the wires are just plugged into the back, so try to unplug it.
If they keep going off you can call the fire dept.
They will come out and check the home for you. They will also turn them off if they are not working right. If you have a alarm company wired have they called you to see if your OK? They may be able to answer your questions better with reference material from the install.
email me back if you need more help
